Done in all acrylic. This is a portrait of a toddler I take care of in the nursery I volunteer in. It was the first color splash piece I did of a person that wasn't in charcoal and gesso so I was very excited about that!

Ghost Horn
This was an experiment with watercolor and ink. I had to draw this object with a brush that was 10 ft long so I was 10 ft away from the paper. And it was wet on wet. But I actually liked the way it turned out. It's very haunting and scary and kind of reminded me of a horror story or a mass murder in a band room or something.
I don't know what's wrong with me -.-
Christmas Ornament
Not an original piece. I can't find the original piece but since I'm a nice person I'm putting a disclaimer anyway.
Color splash piece. I'm not very fond of this one. It was my first time with watercolor and I, for some reason, suck at watercolor tremendously so.....yeah....
In the Heat of the Sun
A quick landscape done in acrylic. I just need something in my portfolio so I did it in like a day :/
Stuffed with Fluff
Another color splash piece. These are my tiny little soldiers Cat (the pig), Sasha (the rabbit), and some weird bush baby looking animal I haven't named but makes a kissy noise when you squeeze it. I think this is one of my favorite pieces.
Done in graphite and color pencil.
The Dream
So I had the weirdest dream in the world and I HAD to draw it in some kind of way. To this day I remember what happened in that dream. I don't know why.
Done in white ink, conte, and china marker.
Don't Blink
Another charcoal and gesso painting. I'm so glad of the angle on this picture because as a whovian I am afraid to look into the eyes of any statue. After all, the image of an angel is an angel.
I'm sorry, I accidentally made this a print and I have no idea how to change that -.-"
The Expansion of Surrealism
A surrealist piece after some study on Dali. I wanted to explore the effects on nature and life cause by the growth of human minds and ideas. It may be a little more straight-forward than most surrealists pieces but it is a study I suppose.
Was done in Cut paper, collage, color pencil, and acrylic paint.
Yin Yang Fish
Based from this DA piece so it's not originally mine. However, I did put my own little twist to it.
Was done in Oil pastel, color pencil, cut paper, and sharpie.
Water Lily
Part of my color splash series. This isn't an original piece but I don't have the link to the original one. But I'm still putting a disclaimer because I'm nice like that.
Was done in charcoal and oil pastel.
Rachel
A piece I did in charcoal and gesso. Honestly it was last minute and I hated it for a while but everyone else loved it and I started to like it more and more. Now I love it too :)
Spotted Sky
I am obligated to put the disclaimer that this is not an original piece and the photo that this was rendered from can be viewed here.
Another color splash piece. Done in graphite and color pencil.

Small to say the least
Materials:
- Color pencil
- Cut paper
- Acrylic paint
Dimensions: 9" x 12"
Description: Just a little change is a cut paper piece. Everything except the background is cut paper. The designs in the hair, clothes, and foliage were all hand-drawn and rendered with color pencils. I wanted to work on my craft and there was no better way to do that than with a cut paper piece. Belle's hair was of my own design and I have to admit it was a lot of fun painting and drawing the designs for the hair and clothes. However, I think on the next piece I might try to use a ready-made design or fabric.

Just have some more root beer
I am obligated to put the disclaimer that this is not an original piece and the photo that this was rendered from can be viewed here.
Title: When Life Gives You Lemons
Materials:
- Graphite pencil
- Color pencil
- Ebony pencil
Dimensions: 9 3/4" x 12"
Description: "When Life Gives You Lemons" is number four of the Color Splash Series. It is mainly done in graphite and ebony pencil with color pencil. This piece was just something quick I wanted to do. I chose different pencils on this to help hone my craft issues and work on holding the pencil so that my hand didn't smudge the work.
Insatiable Birdie
Title: Insatiable Birdie
Medium:
- Color pencils
- Oil pastels
Description: "Insatiable Birdie" is also one of my favorite pieces. It is both a color study and a movement study. The dipping bird was colored with color pencil. The background space was done in oil pastel. "Insatiable Birdie" is a study on the color wheel. The first panel colors are warm colors. The second panel is strictly cool colors. And the third panel has tertiary colors. It is also an intense study on movement as the dipping bird was in constant movement as the piece was being made.
Like Dew Drops on the Tip of the Leaf
I am obligated to put the disclaimer that this is not an original piece and the photo that this was rendered from can be viewed here.
Title: Like the Dew in the Morning
Medium:
- Graphite pencil
- Color pencil
Description: "Like the Dew in the Morning" is number three in the Color Splash series. The flower is rendered in graphite pencil while the dew drops are rendered in color pencil. I chose to draw this piece because I love working with blurred backgrounds. I simplified the background a lot and made it much darker to pop the flower forward to the middle ground while the dew drops, being in such large contrast since they are color, immediately set in the foreground.
An Evening in the Park
Title: Evening in the Park
Medium:
- Cut paper
- Oil pastels
- Paint marker
Description: "Evening in the Park" is another monochromatic study done entirely in oil pastel on Illustration board. The young girl blowing bubbles was cut out from card stock paper and painted with a metallic golf paint marker. The piece is a simple color study and medium experiment. I chose a red pastel for this piece because I wanted to convey the feeling of a sunset.
Beyonca
Title: Beyonca
Medium:
- Charcoal
- Gesso
- Acrylic
Description: The second piece in the Color Splash series. "Beyonca" is an example of two-dimensional and three-dimensional rendering. Painted in the same medium as "Ariel," "Beyonca" differs though because there are some things, such as her hat and jacket, that are rendered smoothly to contrast the cut paper feel of the rest of the piece.

My Dearest Beatrice
Title: Changing Beatrice
Medium:
- Acrylic paint
Description: This is one of my favorite pieces. Painted entirely with acrylic, the painting "Changing Beatrice" is a study of rotation. It is the same skull (a small fox skull) just slightly rotated to show a frontal view, a 3/4 view, and a side view. "Changing Beatrice" is also a study of geometric versus organic shapes with the organic movement swirling over Beatrice's head as well as the geometric circles surrounding her entire form.
♫ A-Tisket, a-tasket, I drew a purple basket ♫
Title: Carriage Crossing
Medium:
- Color pencils
- Oil pastels
Description: Once a large artwork, this piece was cut into six almost 10 x 8 pieces. It is a study of both zooming into one object yet still having recognizable elements, and a monochromatic study. The carriage is strictly color pencil and the background space in oil pastel. This piece was divided because it allows the audience to choose which shot of the baby carriage they love the most, whether it is the entire shot, or the extreme close up of the design.
Ariel
Title: Ariel
Medium:
Medium:
- Charcoal
- Gesso
- Acrylic
Description: This is part of my Color Splash series that currently only has 9 pieces. It was made by mixing charcoal with gesso to make different kinds of grays. The scarf is painted with acrylic paint. It was painted to look like a cut paper piece/strictly two dimensional, yet to give off a sense of depth, which is why nothing is shaded or painted to give a three-dimensional feel.
Just to start things off...
I'd like to tell a little about me. Well first, I am a sophomore in college. I currently have two majors: Animation and Sequential Narrative. I have many goals in life, but what I want to do as an official career is to animate my own series and/or feature films. However, I am very versatile with my talents. I'm also very interested in painting (my role model being Takashi Murakami), drawing, photography, filming, writing, web comics and graphic novels. I have not, nor will I ever be interested in sculpture. It is just something I am not into. I do hope to create a great web comic/graphic novel because I have been developing an idea for one for about 2-3 years. My absolute role model is Hayao Miyazaki. I love every single one of his films and I hope and pray that one day I will be able to collaborate and work with him on an animated film.
I do mostly traditional art work but I am delving into digital work (especially since I start animation classes soon). I prefer Corel Painter over much painting software but my second option, of course, would be Photoshop. I love oil and acrylic paints. I hate gouache Period. I am not very good with watercolors but I suppose that is because of lack of practice. I have never really liked them that well though but I am extremely envious of people who can use them. I am currently writing a novel called Whistle to the Lights (I have a lot of projects and ideas going on at once. I finish them all mostly, but it takes a while). I do hope to get it published, but novel writing is not something I would love to do as a profession, just as a hobby. I am also very interested in illustration. It sort of goes hand in hand with sequential narrative, but I also want to use it to illustrate book covers and children's books. I just love having a lot of different things I can fall back on. Also, I love children. Since I know my art career might not pick up straight after college, I plan on becoming a nanny until I can get myself out there.
There are other small things about me. I love Doctor Who, Sherlock, Merlin, pretty much anything BBC or British. I love Supernatural and some anime. SOME (I used to like a lot but anime has just gotten too weird for me). I love making anything into characters and studying character development. Researching for my stories is my favorite past time. I adore animals of all kinds. My favorite book genre is mystery/suspense/thriller and my favorite music genre is anything under the sun. I want to learn any musical instrument I can and 7 different languages: Spanish, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Italian, and Chinese. Also Esperanto but technically it is not a language. And Latin but technically it is dead.
That's it for now but if you have any questions please leave them in the comments.
Ciao Ciao! :)
